Basketball Recap: Logan Gale's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Neshaminy over Upper Moreland

Neshaminy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Upper Moreland Bears, falling 63-40. While losing is never fun, the Skins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Bears are ranked 101st).

Neshaminy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Gale, who posted six points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jason Gilardi, who put up five points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Neshaminy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Neshaminy's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Upper Moreland, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Neshaminy will host Harry S. Truman at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Upper Moreland, they will venture away from home to face off against Springfield Township at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
