Emery skates past North Sanpete with ease

Recap: Emery Spartans vs. North Sanpete Hawks

Make it seven blowout wins for the Emery Spartans this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat North Sanpete 75-40 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Emery has posted since December 13, 2023.

Emery's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wade Stilson, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Stilson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Tuttle, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

North Sanpete lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cole Cook, who scored ten points. Bryce Swapp was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

North Sanpete struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The win makes it two in a row for Emery and bumps their season record up to 12-4. As for North Sanpete, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Emery's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Juab at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Juab is ranked 65th, while Emery is ranked 41st). As for North Sanpete, they will head out on the road to take on Carbon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carbon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
