The Palmer Bulldogs will face off against the Pilot Point Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Palmer beats Pilot Point with 56 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Bulldogs simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat A Plus Academy 56-16. The Bulldogs' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Palmer was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 292 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 174 rushing yards in 15 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Pilot Point humbled Madison with a 55-7 victory. That's two games straight that the Bearcats have won by exactly 48 points.
Pilot Point's win came from a few key players Palmer will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Garrett Evans, who threw for 113 yards and two TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. Another player making a difference was Josh Chumley, who rushed for 114 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries.
Pilot Point didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hunter Newman and Drevion James.
Palmer's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Pilot Point, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Palmer has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 316 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pilot Point struggles in that department as they've been averaging 316.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Palmer against Pilot Point in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 43-10 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bearcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
