Softball Recap: River View Black Bears vs. West Holmes Knights
River View extended their losing streak to ten on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-22 in the process. They came up short against the West Holmes Knights, falling 9-3. The Black Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 15-10.
Addy Blair was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
As for West Holmes, their record now sits at 8-11. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 14th (when they won 12-2).
On West Holmes' side, GABBY FOWLER made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. FOWLER was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, BRIAR CLINE and ZALINA PROPER did most of the damage at the plate: CLINE went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while PROPER went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI PROPER has posted since back in April. EMMA MILLER was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
As of now, neither River View nor West Holmes have any future games scheduled.
