Marshall has gone 8-2 against Gabrielino recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Marshall will be playing in front of their home fans against Gabrielino at 3:30 p.m. Marshall has given up an average of 11.7 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Marshall's offense. They lost 19-0 to South El Monte last Thursday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Marshall hasn't been shut out since back in February.

Meanwhile, Gabrielino got the win against Mark Keppel on Friday by a conclusive 11-3. Considering the Eagles have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Michael Esparza was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Gabrielino: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Robert Mercado, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Gabrielino and bumps their season record up to 6-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Marshall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Marshall got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Gabrielino by a conclusive 9-3 score. Does Marshall have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gabrielino turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
