Soccer Game Preview: Greer Middle College vs. Providence

The Greer Middle College Blazers will head out on the road to square off against the Providence Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greer Middle College knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Providence likes a good challenge.

Greer Middle College is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Union County with a sharp 12-2 victory on Tuesday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 7-0.

Meanwhile, Providence kept a clean sheet against Heathwood Hall Episcopal on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Highlanders by a score of 2-0.

Greer Middle College's win bumped their record up to 7-3-1. As for Providence, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Greer Middle College skirted past Providence 2-1 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will the Blazers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
