Grace Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lake Norman Christian, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. Grace Academy put the hurt on Lake Norman Christian with a sharp 14-4 victory on Thursday. Grace Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by nine runs or more this season.

Fletcher Owens made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Grace Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Brody Mcnamara was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Seth Stanton, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Grace Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Grace Academy and bumps their season record up to 12-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Lake Norman Christian, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Academy will head out to challenge North Hills Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Norman Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Statesville Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
