Baseball Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

After flying high against Highland Baptist Christian last Monday, Southside came back down to earth. The Southside Sharks fell just short of the Covington Lions by a score of 3-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Sharks have suffered since February 13th.

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4-1. As for Covington, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Looking ahead, Southside will head out to square off against Sulphur at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southside is facing Sulphur at the right time seeing as Sulphur is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Covington, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-4 win against Notre Dame on the 8th.
