Baseball Recap: Maricopa Rams vs. Apache Junction Prospectors
Maricopa's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Apache Junction Prospectors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rams also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2017.
Sebastian Castro-Lopez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Castro-Lopez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Will Hawkins, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Connor Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
