Basketball Game Preview: Falmouth Navigators vs. Brunswick Dragons

Falmouth hasn't had much luck against Brunswick recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Falmouth Navigators will venture away from home to challenge the Brunswick Dragons at 12:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Falmouth is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 50-18 loss at the hands of Marshwood. While losing is never fun, the Navigators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Hawks are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Brunswick entered their match against Oxford Hills on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Brunswick took a blow against Oxford Hills, falling 71-25. The game marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Falmouth's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Brunswick, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Falmouth suffered a grim 60-37 defeat to Brunswick in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Falmouth avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
