Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Christian Falls Short of Glen Iris Baptist in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mt. Pleasant Christian can now relate to. They fell 56-48 to the Glen Iris Baptist Swordsmen on Saturday. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Swordsmen earlier this season, when they won 37-33.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Glen Iris Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leah Griffin, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. Griffin is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Lanie Saruse was another key player, going 9-for-21 on her way to 18 points and three steals.

Mt. Pleasant Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Glen Iris Baptist, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

As of now, neither Mt. Pleasant Christian nor Glen Iris Baptist have any future games scheduled.
