Baseball Game Preview: Abbeville Panthers vs. Horse Creek Academy Stallions

The Abbeville Panthers will take on the Horse Creek Academy Stallions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Abbeville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over Whitmire. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Horse Creek Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top against Whitmire by a score of 12-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Stallions.

Aiden Clarke was excellent, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Cannon Blume was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Abbeville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Horse Creek Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-13.
