Softball Recap: Leipsic Comes Up Short

Leipsic extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-14. They fell 5-0 to the Continental Pirates. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pirates from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Continental, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games.

For Continental's part, not much got past Gracie Homier, who gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Leipsic off the board. Homier has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Continental saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenzie Searfoss, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leipsic will square off against Columbus Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Continental, they will host Holgate at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
