Softball Recap: Manchester Wins Going Away Against Fort Wayne Wayne

Manchester's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Fort Wayne Wayne Generals as Manchester made off with a 27-6 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Squires considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Izzy Renz was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Saydah Burke, who scored five runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Manchester now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Fort Wayne Wayne, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Manchester and Fort Wayne Wayne will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time Manchester sees the field they'll take on North Miami at 5:30 p.m. on April 9. As for Fort Wayne Wayne, their break will end when they face Northfield at 5:00 p.m. on April 9.
