Baseball Recap: Highlands Scots vs. Lindhurst Blazers
Highlands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Lindhurst Blazers, falling 17-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 last Tuesday.
Emiliano Rubio made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Vincenzo Showen, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Highlands' loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Lindhurst, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highlands will square off against Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Scots are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lindhurst, they will be playing at home against Biggs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
