Recap: Kingstree Blazers vs. Calhoun Falls Charter Blue Flashes
On Thursday, the Kingstree Blazers's game was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-51 win over Calhoun Falls Charter.
Kingstree's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Micheal Kelly led the charge by scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds. Mal'aki Matthews was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Kingstree pushed their record up to 6-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Calhoun Falls Charter, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Kingstree will head out on the road to face off against Burke at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Burke is ranked 175th, while Kingstree is ranked 166th). Calhoun Falls Charter will be home for the holidays to greet Carvers Bay at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
