Softball Recap: Arabia Mountain Rams vs. Tri-Cities Bulldogs        
        
		
             Arabia Mountain's game  last Tuesday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Wednesday. They walked away with  an   8-3  win over the Tri-Cities Bulldogs. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rams as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
  Shayla Mentor-McLean made a big impact no matter where she played. She  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Mentor-McLean was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-2 with a  triple and a  run.
 In other batting news,  Makayla Smith and  Samiyah Zellars did most of the damage at the plate:  Smith  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-2, while  Zellars  went 1-for-2 with a  home run and four  RBI. That's the most  hits  Smith has posted since  back in August of 2023. Another player making a difference was  Jaloni Williams, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases.
 Arabia Mountain was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .400. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
 Arabia Mountain's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Tri-Cities,  they are  on  a  16-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
 Arabia Mountain will head out to  challenge Decatur  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Decatur will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  victory, something Arabia Mountain surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tri-Cities, they will face off against Lakeside at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Lakeside is coming into the  contest with seven straight  wins on the road,  so Tri-Cities will have to stop a  squad with plenty of momentum.
