Volleyball Game Preview: Northtown Pumas vs. Chicago Academy Cougars

The Northtown Pumas will head out on the road to square off against the Chicago Academy Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Thursday, Northtown didn't have quite enough to beat Walther Christian Academy and fell 2-1. The match marked the Pumas' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Northtown actually scored more points across those three sets (68-62), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 12-25, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Chicago Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to Lincoln Park.

While Chicago Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-12.

Having lost for the first time this season, Northtown fell to 5-1. As for Chicago Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
