Softball Recap: Port Huron Gets the Win

Port Huron won the last time they faced Cousino and things went their way on Thursday too. The Red Hawks walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Patriots.

Keila Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Bryn Mullins was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Lauren Thomas was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Port Huron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Port Huron now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Cousino, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
