Baseball Game Preview: Willits Wolverines vs. Calistoga Wildcats

The Willits Wolverines will square off against the Calistoga Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Willits will be strutting in after a victory while Calistoga will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Willits beat Tomales 6-3. That's two games straight that the Wolverines have won by exactly three runs.

Meanwhile, Calistoga fell victim to Credo and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Gryphon, falling 10-0. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Gryphon recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Willits has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Calistoga, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Everything went Willits' way against Calistoga in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Willits made off with a 13-1 victory. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
