Volleyball Game Preview: Westborough Rangers vs. Grafton Gators

The Westborough Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Grafton Gators at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Westborough is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Shrewsbury just ended the team's six-match winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Colonials, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rangers have suffered since October 16, 2024.

While Westborough was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-9, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Grafton lost 3-0 to Algonquin Regional on Tuesday.

While Grafton was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Algonquin Regional's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-12, 25-20.

Westborough's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Grafton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything went Westborough's way against Grafton in their previous matchup back in September, as Westborough made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
