Baseball Recap: Rock Hill Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Rock Hill and Northwestern meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Bearcats fell 4-1 to the Trojans. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Rock Hill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Walker Thomason, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Mason McKay also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Rock Hill dropped their record down to 4-13 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Northwestern, they moved to 6-11 with that win, which also ended their eight-game losing streak.

While Rock Hill had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
