Baseball Game Preview: Carter-Riverside Eagles vs. Benbrook Bobcats

Carter-Riverside is 0-10 against Benbrook since March of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Eagles will welcome the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Carter-Riverside knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Benbrook likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Carter-Riverside made easy work of Eastern Hills and carried off a 15-1 win. Considering the Eagles have won 11 contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jesus Ojeda made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Carter-Riverside got a massive performance out of Sergio Casillas, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave Casillas a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Santos Martinez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Benbrook posted their closest victory since March 5th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over Trimble Tech. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Benbrook's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Carter-Riverside, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.

Carter-Riverside suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Benbrook in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
