Softball Recap: Chatham Comes Up Short

If Chatham was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Kittatinny Regional on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell just short of the New Providence Pioneers by a score of 9-8 on Monday. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pioneers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Chatham's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for New Providence, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Chatham will be playing at home against Morristown at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Providence, they will head out to take on Union Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.89 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
