Volleyball Recap: Athens Comes Up Short at Home Against Wyalusing Valley + How To Watch

Athens unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Wyalusing Valley Rams on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-13, 25-20.

Despite the defeat, Athens saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kayla Forbes had 11 digs.

Wyalusing Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Athens wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Troy on the 28th. As for Wyalusing Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against North Penn-Liberty on the 28th.
