League recap: Bellarmine Prep tops Olympia to extend winning streak

4A Narrows recap Oct. 23, 2012

Bellarmine Prep extended the longest winning streak in 4A Narrows this week by beating Olympia, 21-0. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Lions.

South Kitsap led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Stadium.

Jacob Swilley was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 28 carries, he ran for 167 yards as Yelm topped Gig Harbor. Teammate Kyle Brownell added to the ground attack by rushing for 134 yards.

Sefo Liufau put up the best numbers through the air as Bellarmine Prep defeated the Bears. He had a total of six completions for 71 yards. Liufau's favorite target this week was Garrett McKay, who caught two passes for 26 yards.

Page was the best wideout in 4A Narrows this week as the Tornadoes bested the Tides. Page racked up one reception for 28 yards. Swilley helped Yelm's passing attack out by catching one ball for two yards.

Thomas Larsen's team's Liufau and McKay have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Liufau has thrown for 1569 yards this season, while McKay, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 43 catches for 698 yards. Yelm's Swilley leads the league in rushing yards with 1234.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Central Kitsap takes on the Wolves. The Cougars are in first place, while South Kitsap is in third place.
