Sarcoxie (Mo.) grabbed the lead when they scored a defensive touchdown with 3:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to beat
Lockwood (Mo.) 27-20 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured four lead swaps.
The Bears led 7-6 at halftime, but the Tigers regained the lead on a passing touchdown with 9:00 remaining in the third.
Sarcoxie expanded its lead to three points entering the fourth quarter. SHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Jade Bloss touchdown run.
The Bears got revenge for last year's 38-26 loss to Lockwood with the victory.
The loss comes after Lockwood defeated Rich Hill 30-28 last week. The win brought Sarcoxie's winning streak to three games. The loss broke Lockwood's two-game winning streak.
Lockwood (2-1) will play a Spring River Valley game against Jasper next week, while Sarcoxie (3-0) will take on Pierce City also in a Spring River Valley game.
