Game recap: Goose Creek High School Football Team takes down West Ashley

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Goose Creek (S.C.) extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 52-7 victory over West Ashley (Charleston, S.C.) on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a Rico Blanding touchdown run in the first quarter, the Gators led 38-0 at the half.

Goose Creek expanded its lead to 52 points entering the fourth quarter. GC scored two times in the third, including once on a Caleb Kinlaw touchdown run.

The Gators' most effective player was Kalan Ritchie. The junior tight end caught two touchdowns. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.

The Wildcats' lone touchdown came on a pass in the fourth quarter.



Led by Gerald Turner, Goose Creek came into the game allowing 10.6 points per game.

A 35-3 Goose Creek victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

In a AAAA Region VII game next week West Ashley (1-9) takes on Cane Bay, and Goose Creek (10-0) will go up against Stratford also in a AAAA Region VII game.
