Basketball Recap: Indianapolis Lutheran's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lawrence North, Indianapolis Lutheran was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders 45-42. The win was some much needed relief for the Saints as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Indianapolis Lutheran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaren Anderson led the charge by putting up 14 points. Those 14 points gave Anderson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarrett Harris, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Indianapolis Lutheran's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indianapolis Lutheran will head out to challenge Speedway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Indianapolis Lutheran is facing Speedway at the right time seeing as Speedway is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Guerin Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
