Recap: Berthoud Spartans vs. Resurrection Christian Cougars        
        
		
            
 The Berthoud Spartans suffered their biggest  defeat since December 7, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Resurrection Christian, falling  69-42. While losing is never fun, Berthoud can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings  (they are ranked 216th, while Resurrection Christian is ranked 46th).
 Berthoud's loss  came despite strong showings from  Avery Pfohl and  Rory Carr.  Pfohl  scored 17 points along with three  steals, while  Carr  scored eight points along with three  steals. Pfohl has been hot recently, having posted two or more  steals the last three times she's  played.
 Resurrection Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Olivia Klein, who  scored 19 points along with two  steals. Klein has been hot recently, having posted two or more  steals the last four times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Lysette Baatz, who  scored ten points along with six  rebounds.
 Berthoud bumped their record down to 3-10 with that  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road. As for Resurrection Christian, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
 Coincidentally,  the two teams will both be playing Sterling the next time they take the court. Resurrection Christian will head out to face Sterling at 6:00  p.m.  on Saturday, while Berthoud will  host them  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
