Johnson Came Up Big in Calera's 35-14 Victory

Starting off the list is Calera's Antorious Johnson, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Johnson threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 48 yards.

Calera's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. Johnson and Calera will square off against Chilton County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Helena was led to victory by Nate Ferguson, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Ferguson rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 101 yards and two touchdowns.

Helena's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-3. Ferguson and Helena have the luxury of staying home for another week and will welcome Pelham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Spain Park picked up their 11th consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to CJ Cowley. Cowley turned in his biggest game of the season, rushing for 83 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
