Softball Recap: Bishop Ready Takes a Loss

After flying high against Whitehall-Yearling last Wednesday, Bishop Ready came back down to earth. The Silver Knights came up short against the Bexley Lions on Friday, falling 15-5. The Silver Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Olyvia Piper made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season. Ana Sanchez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Bishop Ready's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Bexley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Bishop Ready will square off against rival Grandview Heights at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Bexley is set to challenge their familiar foe Whitehall-Yearling at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
