Basketball Game Preview: Many Farms Lobos vs. Northland Prep Academy Spartans

The Many Farms Lobos will face off against the Northland Prep Academy Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Many Farms took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They breezed by Greyhills Academy to the tune of 44-4. The Lobos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Northland Prep Academy had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on BASIS Flagstaff with a sharp 48-22 win on Monday. The Spartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Many Farms better keep an eye on Annabelle Jackson. She was instrumental in Northland Prep Academy's win, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. Those 13 points gave Jackson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellysia Martinez, who posted eight points in addition to ten steals and eight boards.

Northland Prep Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Many Farms is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Northland Prep Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

Many Farms ended up a good deal behind Northland Prep Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, losing 49-34. Can Many Farms avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
