Football Recap: Southern Comes Up Short

Southern extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They took a blow against the Tri County Trojans, falling 54-12. The Raiders were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Although Southern took the loss, they still got scores from Paxx Adams and Carsen Goes.

As for Tri County, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Southern: they've now won six in a row.

Garrett Smidt produced another solid effort rushing for 125 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards.

Coming up, Southern will look to defend their home field on Friday against Thayer Central at 7:00 p.m. The Titans' defense has only allowed 14.6 points per game this season, so the Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Tri County, they are taking a road trip to take on Exeter-Milligan/Friend at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will be up against the Bobcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
