Football Recap: Brentwood Christian Starts Season with Loss at Home

Brentwood Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Texas Christian Lions on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Brentwood Christian lost, don't look at Brayden Jennings. Despite the final result, he rushed for 115 yards and three scores on only 11 carries, and also threw for 160 yards and one TD. The Bears' leading receiver Gabe Washington was Jennings' top target yet again, picking up 82 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Austin Evans went supernova For Central Texas Christian., rushing for 279 yards and five scores while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Evans' longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.

Coming up, Brentwood Christian is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Savio at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Texas Christian, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Florence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
