Leadore hasn't had much luck against Rockland recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Leadore Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Rockland Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Rockland will be up against a hot Leadore team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Leadore took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 68-22 win over Sho-Ban. The Mustangs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leadore relied on the efforts of Lexi Bird, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards, and Katie Mackay, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Mackay a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylee Bird, who posted eight points.
Leadore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Rockland humbled North Gem with a 51-18 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
Rockland's win came from a few key players Leadore will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alexa Permann, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sidney Freeman, who earned 13 points and seven boards.
Leadore pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.4 points per game. As for Rockland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Leadore has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 37.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Rockland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Leadore came up short against Rockland when the teams last played back in January, falling 52-42. Can Leadore avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
