Softball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 13-2 to the Galesburg-Augusta Rams. The Bearcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Rams from their previous meeting back in March of 2025.

As for Galesburg-Augusta, their win bumped their record up to 1-0. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27, 2025 (when they won 19-4).

For Galesburg-Augusta's part, Piper Snodderly and Brooklyn Krontz did most of the damage at the plate: Snodderly went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Krontz got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. BreAnna Keene was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

While Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
