Cotopaxi and Evangel Christian Academy are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2018, but not for long. The Pirates will square off against the Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Cotopaxi came up short against Mountain Valley on Friday, falling 3-0. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Cotopaxi was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 25-20.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles last Thursday. Evangel Christian Academy took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pikes Peak Christian.

Evangel Christian Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-20.

Despite the defeat, Evangel Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Olivia Christensen had 13 digs.

Cotopaxi now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Evangel Christian Academy, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 15-4.

Cotopaxi suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Evangel Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
