Football Recap: Destiny Martinez Leads Aurora West College Prep Academy's Defense on Saturday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northglenn, Aurora West College Prep Academy was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Gateway Olympians a 20-0 shutout. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Aurora West College Prep Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Destiny Martinez. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Aurora West College Prep Academy's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Gateway, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
