League recap: Bynum tops Penelope to extend winning streak

Bynum extended the longest winning streak in 1A 6 Man 1 Region IV District 13 (6 Man) this week by beating Penelope, 51-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Avalon's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Blake McCulloch has thrown for 830 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Victor Ledesma has 20 catches for 300 yards. Rigo Palacios leads the league in rushing with 700 yards.

Bynum made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 413 from 516. The improvement was the result of 51-14 victory over the Wolverines last week.
