East Carteret has gone 10-0 against Lejeune recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the East Carteret Mariners will head out on the road to face off against the Lejeune Devil Pups at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, East Carteret was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 62-58 to Pamlico County. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (57), the Mariners still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Lejeune entered their tilt with Southside on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Seahawks, posting an 80-46 win. The Devil Pups have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

East Carteret has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Lejeune, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

Everything went East Carteret's way against Lejeune when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as East Carteret made off with an 87-63 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Carteret since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
