Baseball Recap: South Eugene Axe vs. North Medford Black Tornado

South Eugene had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 3-18 to make it four. They lost 7-1 to the North Medford Black Tornado. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Black Tornado this season, with their most recent defeat being a 15-7 loss on Saturday.

South Eugene saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Donlan, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

As for North Medford, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

On North Medford's side, Macen Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits.

At the plate, Dominic Daffron and Colton Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Daffron went 2-for-4 with three runs, while Miller went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. Those three runs gave Daffron a new career-high.
