Football Recap: Manatee Takes Down Mitchell in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Manatee had no trouble coming through when it counted. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Mitchell Mustangs 20-19. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hurricanes.

Mitchell lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sofia Fecarotta, who threw for 193 yards and a pair of TDs. A healthy portion of that aerial production (94 yards to be exact) went to Carys Thuma, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Manatee's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Mitchell, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Looking ahead, Manatee will face off against East Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Hurricanes 7.7, the Eagles 7.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Mitchell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
