Football Recap: Hayden Wildcats vs. West Point Warriors
Hayden extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were dealt a 42-12 defeat at the hands of the West Point Warriors. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
As for West Point, they now have a winning record of 3-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Point to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ollie Howell, who rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns. Howell's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 124 rushing yards. Bryant Moon did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 83 receiving yards.
Looking ahead, Hayden will challenge Ramsay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. As for West Point, they will face off against Priceville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 9.2 points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them.
