Basketball Recap: Quincy Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Erie over Crest

After flying high against Southern Coffey County on Friday, Erie came back down to earth. The Red Devils took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crest Lancers on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 48-38 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Erie lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Quincy Brown, who shot 43% from the field to rack up 14 points and six rebounds. Brown is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Parker Hughes was another key player, putting up nine points.

Erie now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Crest, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Erie will be playing at home against West Elk at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crest, they will square off against Humboldt on Thursday.
