Baseball Game Preview: Pleasant Valley Vikings vs. Enterprise Hornets

For the second straight game, Pleasant Valley will face off against Enterprise. The Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pleasant Valley has six straight victories, Enterprise has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Pleasant Valley got the win against Enterprise by a conclusive 15-3.

Benji Montgomery looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Scott McKeown and Brayden Borges did most of the damage at the plate: McKeown got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, while Borges went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three runs gave McKeown a new career-high. Evan Leaf also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Pleasant Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Enterprise's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14-1. As for Pleasant Valley, their record now sits at 18-7.

Enterprise's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pleasant Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320.
