Basketball Recap: Maranatha Christian Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Ballard Christian on Friday, Maranatha Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Maranatha Christian Academy Knights were dealt a 69-30 loss at the hands of the Mount View Golden Knights on Saturday. The Knights were down 50-26 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

ZyMir Martin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mount View, going 8 of 11 en route to 19 points. What's more, Martin also racked up four rebounds, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zion Jackson, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 14 points.

Maranatha Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Mount View, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Maranatha Christian Academy will welcome Mount Hope Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mount View, they will head out to challenge Meadow Bridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
