Basketball Recap: Goodrich Comes Up Short

Goodrich was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 32nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Brookeland Wildcats and fell 153-14. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 89-6.

When it comes to explaining why Goodrich lost, don't look at Sky Wrightson. Despite the final result, he posted eight points.

Landon Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brookeland, going 22 of 27 on his way to 46 points along with eight steals and six assists. Smith's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Cade Morgan was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine steals.

Goodrich's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Brookeland, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Goodrich has already played their next match, a 50-20 defeat against High Island on the 17th. As for Brookeland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 95-28 win against Leggett on the 17th.
