Natalia proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 13) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Hondo Owls 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Owls back in March, they had to take a 8-7 loss.

Arabella Gallegos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits.

At the plate, Natalia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leyla Saenz, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Natalia hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three strikeouts batters in six consecutive contests.

Natalia's victory bumped their record up to 17-6-1. As for Hondo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Looking ahead, Natalia will venture away from home to challenge Lytle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season. As for Hondo, they will be playing at home against Cotulla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cowboys will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Owls surely won't give up without a fight.
