Basketball Recap: Harman Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Harman can now relate to. They had to suffer through an 83-25 loss at the hands of the East Hardy Cougars. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Harman lost on Thursday, don't look at Grady Shifflett. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points. Shifflett's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points.

It was another big night for Evan Hamilton, who went 8-for-16 on his way to 25 points and three steals for East Hardy. Hamilton has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 40 times he's played. Trevor Roof was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 12 points and five rebounds.

Harman's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for East Hardy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Harman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Hardy, they have already played their next contest, a 45-32 win against Union on the 11th.
